The 115th meeting of the University Syndicate of University of Jammu was today held under the chairmanship of Prof. Manoj Dhar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu. Prof. Dhar during the meeting, spoke in detail about several international collaborations undertaken by University of Jammu with University of California, Berkley, USA, University of South Florida, Tampa, USA, National Kaohsiung University Hospitality and Tourism, Taiwan, Lincoln University College, Malaysia and in India with High Altitude Warfare School (HAWS) of the Army at Army Training Command Headquarter (ARTRAC), Shimla, CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM), Jammu and CSIR-Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH), Chandigarh respectively. To achieve institutional excellence, Prof Dhar said that the various administrative, research and innovative initiatives has been taken by the University. The significance of University-Industry interactions has become an important requirement of higher education and to bridge the gap between the University and the Industry, it was resolved that the industry representative be incorporated as a member of the Board of Studies of all the faculties to update/fine tune/modify the curriculum as per the requirements of the Industry and for other relevant inputs. Dr. Meenakshi Kilam, Registrar, University of Jammu presented 71 items in the meeting. Giving nod to the various agenda items, Syndicate also confirmed the action taken on the items endorsed by the Academic Council. Deliberations were also held with respect to various fresh academic matters to confirm the action taken by the Vice Chancellor in having renewed temporary affiliation of various colleges and starting of new subjects/ courses. The Syndicate meeting was attended by Prof. Neelam Saraf, University of Jammu, Prof Naresh Padha, Dean, Faculty of Sciences, University of Jammu, Prof. Pankaj Srivastava, University of Jammu, Prof. Vivek Gupta, University of Jammu, Prof. Satnam Kour Raina, University of Jammu, Shadi Lal Pandita, Director, Codes, Finance Department, J&K Govt, Prof Assa Ram Sharma, Principal, GDC, Kathua , Prof Mohi-ud-Din, Dean, CDC, University of Kashmir, and Manav Gupta, FA/CAO, Department of Higher Education, J&K Govt.
