Pak fired explosive shells destroyed in Rajouri, Poonch

Rajouri /Poonch, May 29: The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) of Army on Friday destroyed three high explosive mortar shells in Rajouri and Poonch districts of region, officials said.

Officials informed that an unexploded high explosive shell fired by Pakistan was found in Line of Control (LoC) village of Bhimber Gali sector of Poonch district. “Six days ago, Pakistan Army resorted to heavy mortar shelling in the area and a high explosive 120 mm mortar shell was fund in the area,” they said.

“The shell was a big threat for locals. Soon after spotting the shell, the locals approached Army following which a Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) of Army reached the spot and destroyed the shell,” they said.

They divulged that the shell was destroyed through a controlled explosion.

Meanwhile, another BDS of Army destroyed two high explosive shells at Chak Jarallan village of Nowshera area in Rajouri district.

“Both the shells were recovered from the Agricultural fields of locals in Chak Jarallan on Thursday evening following which the area was sealed by Police and Army's BDS and destroyed both the shells through controlled explosion,” they said
