Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey, Union Minister of Heavy Industries said that keeping in view the vision of Prime Minister, industries should work towards ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat' and make India a global manufacturing hub. He also said that Industrialization is the need of the hour to make the country self-reliant in all fields, but it is equally important that the industry should work to reduce carbon emissions as per the commitment expressed by Prime Minister in COP-26.

The meeting focused on the efforts done by the Ministry and way forward to tackle climate change through adoption of innovative and futuristic policies.

The ministry is committed to the development of futuristic technologies for India's energy transition and climate mitigation. In a step towards this direction, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited under the ministry is working towards development of Advanced Ultra Super Critical for coal based power plants. The company is also focussing on the process of coal gasification to provide a solution towards cleaner usage of coal.
