Rajouri, Aug 25 (UNI) A head constable of the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday died after being electrocuted in Thannamandi area of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir, police said here on Wednesday.
Police said that the head constable identified as Mohammad Arif Khan, resident of Thanamandi, Rajouri, died after being electrocuted accidently.
He was posted in the Thanamandi police station, police said, adding that a case has been registered and investigations taken up.
In another incident, a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was killed after he was hit by a stone on Mughal road, official sources said on Wednesday.
They said a jawan identified as Nissar Hussain, a resident of Rajouri, was collecting wood at Pir-ki-Gali when there was a shooting stone incident in the area. A stone hit Nissar who was immediately rushed to hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Police have registered a case and initiated proceedings, they added.
