Date:

Dharamsala, Sept 17

A soldier of Sikh Regiment shot dead two fellow soldiers before shooting himself in the cantonment area here on Monday morning.
Jasbir Singh, who was on duty from 2 am to 6 am in the officers' mess, came to the barracks with his service rifle and started firing at his two colleagues who were about to sleep.
The two jawans have been identified as Havildar Hardeep Singh and Naik Harpal Singh. He later also shot himself. All the three soldiers died on the spot.
According to the Army, Jasbir hailed from Barnala while Havildar Hardeep Singh belonged to Tarn Taran. The third victim, Naik Harpal Singh, hailed from Gurdaspur. The reason for the provocation is not known. The McLeodganj police and a forensic team of Pradesh Police have reached the spot.
