Deputy Commissioner, S. Rajinder Singh Tara, today chaired a meeting to finalize preparations for celebration of Red Cross Day on 8th May .
It was given out in the meeting that the theme of this year's celebration is “Red Cross Everywhere for Everyone Smile.”
The DDC, also the Chairman of District Red Cross Society, discussed in detail the catalogue of activities to be taken up during Red Cross Day celebration. He also laid stress on motivating people to be active members of the society and help the people in distress and desolation due to food shortage, epidemic diseases or natural calamities.
He also directed Chief Education Officer to celebrate Red Cross Day at 16 cluster head of schools in which flag hoisting, symposium, paper reading contest will be held.
Among others, SSP Anil Mangotra, SDM Ghagwal, ACD, CMO, CEO, all ZEOs, all principals and volunteers of District Red Cross Society were also present during the meeting.
