I am not a think tank but simply a person who would like to express his view on Zonal Level Kala Utsav -2021 celebrated at Govt Higher Secondary School Khellani Doda through the medium of your esteemed daily newspaper .It is an initiative by the Ministry of Education Govt of India to promote art in education by nurturing and showcasing the creative talent of school students at the secondary stage in the country India.It was launched in 2015 being organised under Rastriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA). On 21-10-2021 the Govt Higher Secondary School Khellani was transformed into a musical stage with notes of Sarod, Sitar, Harmonium and Tabla reverberating through the air as it would host the Zonal Level Kala Utsav -2021.The opening ceremony began with a welcome presented by students followed by welcome address by the School Principal Sachla Kumari.The stage secretary Master Nisar Ahmed Banday from Govt HSS Khellani who address the importance of arts and music in one's life .The Chief guest on this occasion was CEO Doda Prahlad Sharma,Principal Sachla Kumari Govt HSS Khellani Staff members of Govt HSS Khellani ,Eight participating Schools of the Zone Assar viz Govt.HS Bari,HSS Khellani,HS Jathi,HSS Behota,HS Blundpur,HS Hambal HSS Goha and HS Baggar and teachers along with their students were present in this occasion.The competition show 16 participants from these schools of Zone Assar showcasing their talent in vocal musical -classical and folk,dance- classical and folk,instrumental-classical and folk,visual-2 dimensional and 3 dimensional,visual arts and indigenous toys and games.The program concluded with the announcement of results for various categories.It is pertinent to mention here that the Principal of Govt Higher Secondary Khellani lauded all the participants and told them that the main objectives of the programme is to encourage and promote promising talents at Zonal,District,State and National Levels.These programmes are very important because they promote arts in education by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talents of school students at the secondary level.I think that through Kala Utsav students will get the opportunity to understand and celebrate cultural diversity at School,District,State and National levels.It will not only spread awareness among students ,but also create awareness of India's cultural heritage and vibrant diversity amongst other stakeholders.Further, it will help to promote networking of artists,artisans and institutions with schools.Last but not least I think that arts education may be perceived as a tool for development of aesthetic sensibility among learners to enable them respond to the beauty in various form,colours,sound and movement Arts integration in an education helps to encourage and develop problem solving ability and thereby improve the ability to handle mental imagery and better expression.Finally I hope that such mega events should be celebrated in Doda even at District Level by department of education keeping in view Govt HSS Khellani as an epicenter of the events in Distt. Doda
