“Do Gaj ki Doori – Mask hai Zaroori” – The PM's message or the Covid SoP does not apply to the Minister in PMO, who does not wear the mask! The latest photo proves the old adage ‘Nearer the Church farther from the God'. It seems Covid-19 or its cousins have exempted VIPs especially PMO of their wrath. Let's recall what the Supreme Court of India said in December 2020 – “People not wearing masks in public spaces are violating the fundamental right to life of everyone else………all states to enforce the guidelines on wearing masks and social distancing scrupulously in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.”
Delhi Police data in the first week of August 2021 shows that between April 19 and July 31, as many as 164,562 people were prosecuted for not wearing a face mask and 194,496 challans issued, but strangely no VIP was in the list of SoPs violators. Let the people decide!
