Rajouri, April 13: In daylight murderous assault by miscreants at his official residence seriously injured Tehsildar, Sunderbani, Ravi Shanker Sharma against implementation of anti-encroachment drive.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police have registered two FIRs after Tehsildar Sunderbani and some employees were injured amid a scuffle in Rajouri.
Official sources said that some persons trespassed into the official quarter which adjoins the office of the Tehsildar and had heated arguments with officers/officials there. Subsequently, the miscreants started beating and then assaulted with sharp edged objects rendering grievous injuries to the officer and his staff. They were subsequently hospitalized, while Tehsildar Ravi Shanker Sharma later shifted to the Government Medical College Hospital at Jammu.
SDPO Noweshra Tausif Ahmed told that Police have registered two separate FIRs against all accused persons involved in the two separate incidents in Police Station Sundarbani.
“First Case FIR No. 20/2022 was registered against Chandar Mohan and Anil Lakhanpal both R/O Sundarbani under section 452/353/323 IPC,” he said, adding, “Second Case FIR No. 21/2022 was registered against Devinder Kumar Sudan and 03 others under section 147,452 336 323 IPC.” He said that the investigation of both cases has begun and arrests are likely to be executed.
Reports said that the miscreant had raised illegal structures over the government land in the town for which orders have been issued for removal. According to officials, Chander Mohan is an employee of Agriculture Department and Devinder Kumar Sudan and their accomplices have been involved into such encroachments and known for threatening and manhandling the public servant while doing their duties.
