Jammu Tawi: Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, Manjit Singh today demanded reservation of jobs for locals in the Industrial Sector in Jammu, Samba, and Kathua.
A function was organised in Samba by Sunny Sambyal, Trade Union District President, Samba, in which Provincial President, Jammu, Manjit Singh, and District President, Samba, Raman Thappa and others were present.
During the function, over a dozen youth joine Apni Party expressing faith in the leadership of Apni Party President, Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari.
Speaking on the occasion, Manjit Singh said that numerous complaints come to them that local youths are ignored with regard to employment in the industrial sector.
“We have huge industrial sectors in Jammu, Samba and Kathua but they hardly engage the local youth. They employ skilled and unskilled people from outside Jammu and Kashmir. The industrial units should prefer the locals with regard to employment,” he said.
He said that the locals are not getting the benefit of industries in these districts in absence of any guarantee to the jobs. “The Govt. must take some immediate steps by ensuring employment to the locals,” he demanded.
Expressing serious concern over unprecedented power cuts in Samba District, he said that the PDD has failed to ensure 24/7 electricity supply in the district.
“The department seems to have collapsed to function and provide round the clock electricity supply to the people. In this hot and humid season, the authorities should ensure proper electricity supply. Without electricity the water supply has also been affected,” he added.
