PDP activists take-out protest march recent MoU with Real Estate Investors

Date:

Jammu Tawi, Dec 29:

Youth activists of J&K People's Democratic Party (PDP) today attempted a protest march against what they termed as the ‘brazen sale' of Jammu and resources to the corporate houses.

The sloganeering march which the party sources said was proposed towards the Raj Bhawan to lodge the protest against the recent move by the Administration to allot a huge chunk of land to the real estate company from outside.

However, the strong contingent present nearby stopped the PDP activists from marching towards the Main Road.Raising slogans against the ruling BJP and LG Administration, the youth activists alleged that the Union Government under the garb of bringing investment is selling resources of the erstwhile state to the corporate houses which are financing the ruling party at the Centre.

They said that on one hand BJP Government as assured to secure the identity, and identity of people of region while on the other hand Jammu and Kashmir is being thrown open for the non-locals endangering the unique culture and ethnical identity of the erstwhile state.

The protesting PDP activists said today the biggest problem of J&K is unemployment, which has shot up to 18 per cent, highest in the country. They also accused the BJP government of being bereft of any vision for Jammu and Kashmir. “Those in Delhi are using Jammu as a laboratory. BJP's vision is only to divide and rule, how to make people fight against each other and how to sell our resources to outsiders,” they said.

The PDP, the protesters said, will not be the mute spectator to the brazen loot by the administration which has no stake in the society. “The officers are making policies without understanding the ground realities. They are only acting blindly follow and implement dictates from Delhi and Nagpur”, they added.
