OIC’s hate-India mindset

Date:

The latest player in the pre-meditated disinformation campaign over the Hijab row, is the Organisation of Islamic Countries which itself is formed on a communal basis and sometimes rechristens itself as Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.

Keeping in view their long track-record vis-a-vis their stance on which has always been biased and critical in India's internal affairs, they never leave an opportunity to bash India on the behest of Pakistan without having any understanding of India.

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Tuesday rightly snubbed the Jeddah-based Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on this statement pertaining to “continued attacks on Muslims in India” amid the Karnataka hijab row is “yet another motivated and misleading statement” coming from the OIC General Secretariat.

MEA spokesperson has said that the issues in India are considered and resolved in accordance with our constitutional framework and mechanisms, as well as democratic ethos and polity. He has termed the OIC's communal mindset that does not allow it for a proper appreciation of these realities. OIC continues to be hijacked by vested interests to further their nefarious propaganda against India. As a result, it has only harmed its own reputation.”

A pertinent question is whether the OIC ever had expressed their concern over the last year's communal attacks and mayhem on Hindus in Bangladesh last year over merely on the basis of rumours spread by the vested interests which was later trailed to the local culprit. But by that time, dozens were killed, scores of injured and thousands of houses burnt and thousands rendered homeless.

Why they did not utter a single word against such violations of human rights and persecution of minorities in a Muslim majority state like Pakistan.

Why does not the OIC urge Pakistan, Bangladesh or other Islamic countries to ensure the safety, security and well-being of the minorities and to bring the instigators and perpetrators of acts of violence and hate crimes against them to justice. It is the pot calling the kettle black!

This is not the first time that the OIC has commented on India's internal matters.

The latest Hijab row in Karnataka is already before the High Court and it has issued an interim order which all should abide by the final hearing on the issue. Being so impatient and instrumental in spreading malicious propaganda smacks of a deep rooted venomous mindset of vested interests. The Hijab row has all the ingredients of sectarian hegemony and one of the acts of sequential mischief like pulling a rabbit out of Hat as there was no Hijab row a month back.
