Questions PAGD over claim of legally challenging commission's report

Srinagar, Dec 22 : Peoples Conference president Sajad Gani Lone on Sunday said that Conference's U-turn to participate in the delimitation commission's meeting has legitimized the grossly unfair proposals.

In a series of tweets, Lone accused NC of legitimizing the grossly unfair proposals.

“Don't the people of deserve- that 3 MPs should have known that -they will be legitimising the delimitation commission a document— which cannot be legally challenged. Legal legitimacy is constitutionally innate. Political legitimacy bestowed by NC”, Lone tweeted.

It is pertinent to mention that NC participated in the delimitation commission's proceedings on December 20. Earlier, the party had said that participation in the delimitation process would tantamount to legitimizing August 5 decisions.

Citing the constitutional provisions, Lone questioned the Peoples' Alliance for Gupkar Declaration's claim that they will challenge the delimitation commission's report in the Supreme Court if not changed.

“Will somebody please enlighten them (PAGD). This report cannot be challenged in court. It is legally unchallengeable. Heaven's sake, stop lying through your teeth”, Lone tweeted.
