MSK celebrates Int’l Youth Day

KISHTWAR AUGUST 12: District level Centre for Women, Mahila Shakti Kendra today celebrated Youth Day here at Ashiana Boys Hostel.

On the occasion, Women Welfare Officer Roohie Sharma greeted the youth and briefed about the importance of this day which is held every year on   August 12 to celebrate the qualities of young people and  the challenges they face. The day brings the issues of youth to the attention of international community and celebrates the potential of youth as a partner in Global society.

The day is marked with a theme every year as per its relevance to the time. Theme of this  year is “Transforming Food Systems: Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary ”. She said the theme for this year cannot be achieved without the participation of young people. Young minds with their ideas can help in restoring the planet and protect life while integrating biodiversity in the transformation of food systems, she added.

The programme was attended by Counsellors, Saima and Sheetal; District Coordinators Hina Jan and  Shanu Rana; Vice President Ashiana, Kuldeep Sharma; Staff of Ashiana besides the students of Ashiana Hostel.
