Date:

Tawi, Dec 6 : Pooja Sharma, a physical teacher from Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur is providing free coaching for children with the objective of exploring children's hidden talents.

“I want to explore the hidden talents of these children. I myself was very much fond of playing cricket since childhood, but I could not get a chance to play for nationals. So I want these children to play for Nationals, ” said Pooja Sharma while speaking to the news agency.

She then added, “During the lockdown, I used to take my school students to play cricket, but now other students are also coming and practicing cricket with me. Girls do not have many facilities. So I decided to give free coaching to children, especially girls, so that they can be prepared for the team.”

She also stated that the space for training is provided by the schools after the school hours and that the school supports her in her endeavours.

Her students also expressed their happiness and enthusiasm at getting cricket coaching free of cost.

Navya, a student taking cricket coaching from Pooja Sharma said, “We come here every day to practice cricket. Our teacher, Pooja, trains us very well. I wish we could also get a chance to play for nationals.”

Rashu, another student who is being trained by Pooja Sharm said, “Pooja ma'am trains us here. Around 10-12 students come from my school. She spares time from her busy schedule and comes here to train us.”

Reiterating Navya's dream to play for the nationals, Sneha, another student who is undergoing cricket training under Pooja Sharma said , “I like playing cricket, that's why I come here to play. Pooja ma'am is a teacher in a government school. There are around 25 girls and 15 boys who practice under her. There is a girl named Sarla Devi who played for nationals from here. I also hope that we play for the nationals in the future.”
