Jammu Tawi: Shiv Sena (Bala Saheb Thackeray) Jammu and Kashmir unit has demanded permanent installation of 100 feet high tricolors at the historic Lal Chowk in Srinagar and Bagh-e-Bahu and Mubarak Mandi sites in Jammu. Addressing media persons during a press conference held at the party's state office President UT J&K, Manish Sahni has appealed to the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, to pass on the requisite directions for hoisting the aforesaid 100 feet high tricolors permanently at these historical places of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory. Sahni further demanded that the installation work should be completed before Independence Day i.e. August 15.
Sahni further said that much politics has been played over hoisting of Tricolour at the historic Lal Chowk for decades and permanent installation of the Tricolour at this historic site will bring end to the politics played by opportunists on the issue. Moreover, it will be a tribute on this Independence Day to the security forces personnel who achieved martyrdom in Kashmir.
Sahni said that Shiv Sainiks across the nation have wholeheartedly welcomed the recent tricolour lighting of Lal Chowk. Prominent among others present during the press conference were President Women's Wing Meenakshi Chhibber, General Secretary Vikas Bakshi, Sr Vice-president Sandeep Bhagat, Sanjeev Kohli , Secretary Balwant Singh and Geeta Lakhotra, Joint secretary Surinder Kumar and Dimple.
