Govt constitute panel to draft transfer policy for doctors

Tawi, May 20: Jammu and Administration has ordered for the constitution of a committee to draft a transfer policy for the factors of and Medical Department.

“Sanction is hereby accorded to the constitution of a Committee comprising of the following to draft a Transfer Policy for the doctors of Health and Medical Education Department, after studying the models of transfer policy of states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.” reads the order issued by Principal Secretary to the Government Health and Medical Education.

As per order Managing Director, J&K Medical Supplies Chairman Corporation Limited/Director Coordination, New GMCs J&K will be  Chairman of the committee,  Director Health Services, Jammu, Director Health Services, Kashmir, Additional Secretary to Government (C), Health and Medical Education Department, Additional Secretary to Government (CK), Health and Medical Education Department and any other officer(s) as may be co-opted by Member the Committee will be members of the committee besides that under secretary to the Government (I) Health and Medical Education Department will be member secretary of the committee.

The terms of reference of the Committee as per order include that the committee shall draft the transfer policy for the doctors in such a manner that each and every doctor gets a chance to serve in the rural/urban areas and vice-versa, the committee shall also make a categorization of area depending upon accessibility and the committee shall submit its report to the Health and Medical Education Department within a period of 6 weeks from the date of issuance of this order.
