DC reviews land acquisition cases of tunnel projects

GANDERBAL, AUGUST 12: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today chaired a meeting of the Revenue department to discuss the various cases of land acquisition of Z-morh and Zojila projects. During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held on various land acquisition issues related to both the projects and the DC sought details of all land acquisition cases.

The cases which were discussed thoroughly include land acquisition for Creeper Lane, Disbursement of amount for Muck dumping land at Kullan, disbursement for trees, structures and utility shifting in creeper trees, encroachment issues near dumping site and disbursement of compensation to land owners and permission for extraction of boulders from Kokran and RangaNallah.

The ACR apprised the DC of the present status of the pending land acquisition cases of both the projects and said that PNC has been conducted in most of the land acquisition cases.

Regarding encroachment near muck dumping, the DC directed the Tehsildar Gund to visit the site and initiate actions against encroachers as per law.

While discussing the compensation disbursement to land owners, the DC directed the concerned that the process of disbursement shall be initiated at an earliest after completing all formalities.

The DC directed the concerned that all pending cases shall be resolved at earliest and other revenue issues of both the projects should be resolved timely for their early completion.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Farooq Ahmad Baba, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Abdul Baseer, Tehsildar Gund and officials of NHIDCL.
