BJP National Executive: Party vows to win Assembly Polls, develop J&K in political resolution

New Delhi, Nov 7: The Bharatiya Janata Party's executive on Sunday passed a political resolution to win the coming Assembly elections, and also analysed the recent Assembly polls, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party president JP Nadda and other top leaders of the party.

At the meeting being held here, the political resolution was placed before the national executive by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Briefing the media on the political resolution, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said 's image abroad has been “established” by vaccination programme that has been run in the country.

She said the recent polls held in different states were mentioned, and the violence after West Bengal elections were condemned.

“Violence in West Bengal was condemned in the political resolution. We will fight it in the court in support of every worker in Bengal,” Sitharaman said.

She said the poll results of recent Assembly polls including Assam, Bihar, Tripura, Puducherry and West Bengal. Asked about the recent by-polls, Sitharaman said it was mentioned in overall, but no seats were analyzed in particular.

She said the resolution specifically mentioned resolve to win all the coming Assembly polls.

The states going to polls next year include Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, Manipur and . Gujarat will also go to polls later next year.

The political resolution also referred to projects that have come to the Union Territory of and Kashmir, and the situation there post abrogation of Article 370.

The resolution mentioned that between 2004 and 2014, 2081 people died in J&K. However, between 2014 to September 2021, 239 civilians have died.

“It shows the state is moving away from terrorism and towards development,” Sitharaman said.

On farmers' issues and ongoing farmers' agitation, the resolution said it is important to recognise MSP has been increased 1.5 times, Kisan credit cards have been distributed, solar pumps have been given, irrigation has been increased, Sitharaman said.

“For agricultural infrastructure, FPO is being used. Rs 1.53 lakh crore has been given to farmers under the Kisan Samman Nidhi in nine installments,” the Minister said.

Asked if the farmers' protests may hurt BJP's electoral prospects, she said, “Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and government has been saying we are ready to talk. What is the issue in law that you object to, we are always ready to talk. If Opposition is raising, it they should tell what is the objection”.
