VC SMVDU chairs first meeting of FDC

The maiden meeting of Faculty Development Centre (FDC) of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, was organized and being chaired by Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU at University Campus. Pertinent to mention that Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of , has recently approved the up-gradation of existing Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), SMVDU to Faculty Development Centre (FDC), SMVDU under Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT) Scheme, the only approved Centre in J&K State. The meeting was attended by Prof. (Dr.) D. Mukhopadhyay, Coordinator, FDC; Dr. Balbir Singh, Dr. Uday Pratap Singh & Dr. Ratna Chandra- Co-Coordinators, FDC; Dr. Rakesh Kumar Jha, Associate Dean, R&D; Romesh Singh, Finance Officer; Ar. Anoop Kumar Sharma, Dr. Pabitra Kr. Jena, Dr. M. M. Chaturvedi, Vinod Sharma, Admn. Officer; Kamal Sharma, University Engineer; Samir Vohra, Technical Officer, FDC & Kanchan Gupta, Section Officer, FDC. While chairing the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor congratulated on the up-gradation of HRDC to FDC at SMVDU and approved the activities to be taken up by the Faculty Development Centre (FDC) during the academic session 2018-19.
The Vice-Chancellor also emphasized on delivering the maximum throughput to the intellectual fraternity including of neighbouring states, especially with a focus on benefitting the teachers of border/remote areas of J&K. The deliberations of the meeting was presented by Samir Vohra, Technical Officer, FDC and was concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Prof. D. Mukhopadhyay, Coordinator, FDC, SMVDU.
