UAV crashes in Kathua

, August 11: An Unmanned Aerial Vehicle of the Indian Air Force crashed in Jammu and 's border district of Kathua after its lost contact with the radar early on Friday.

The UAV crashed near Ladol village of Chadwal belt in the district.

“We were informed by IAF authorities that its UAV has lost contact with radar in Kathua belt. We immediately launched a search for it”, said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Kathua, Mohd Suleman Choudhary.

During the search, the UAV was found near village Ladol of Chadwal belt in Rajbagh tehsil of the district, he said. IAF and police teams are on the spot. “An IAF team is probing the reason behind the crash,” he said.

The IAF has ordered an inquiry into the crash. With PTI inputs
