In , South Africa resume from 39 for three in the first test match against at Vishakhapatnam today. South Africa was 256 for the loss of five wickets when the report last came in. South Africa trail by 246 runs with five wickets remaining in the 1st innings.

Yesterday, Opener Dean Elgar at 27 not out and Temba Bavuma at 2 were at the crease when the second day's play came to end.

Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja rattled the South African batting lineup with early wickets. Ashwin claimed two wickets for nine whereas Jadeja claimed one for 21.

Earlier, India declared their first innings at 502 for 7 with Mayank Agarwal's maiden double ton, 215 and Rohit Sharma's 176.
