Save water for future generations: Kavinder to people

Speaker Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta Friday calls for a need to find out a long-term strategy to overcome expected portable drinking water shortage for future generations.
Speaker said this while participating in day-long workshop titled, “Constituency level workshop on water, Sanitation” organized by PHE Department in collaboration with a local NGO at Gandi Nagar here today. The workshop was also attended by MLC Vinod Gupta, ADC Jammu and senior officers of PHE and other departments.
Kavinder Gupta said that Water is the most important element in human life and called for a need to find out a comprehensive strategy to save the portable drinking water for the future generations. The Speaker said that there is only 3 percent of portable water available for the people and providing portable drinking water to every household is emerging as a tremendous challenge for both state and central governments.
Kavinder Gupta sought the support of people to conserve water by using portable drinking water judiciously and said that every individual should take the responsibility not to misuse the portable water.
He said that both the state and central governments are making all its efforts in providing safe and portable drinking water to every household and it can only be achievable when people will support their cause.
A large number of people present in the camp appreciated the effort of the department in organizing the camp.
