Program on e-waste management for students held

Students of over twenty schools' of Jammu were made aware on the recycling of electronic waste today under the aegis of Karo Sambhav School Program held at New Era Mother High School, Sector 11, Nanak Nagar. The event was graced by Anuradha Gupta, Scientist, State pollution Control Board, Jammu.
Delivering the special address, She said, “As we store the e-waste at home, we are keeping rare materials at home and forcing for more mining. It is good to see that students under Karo Sambhav school programme are making groups and spreading awareness about this in their communities.”
The program was aimed for students from class 5 to 10. Heritage School, Sainik Colony, bagged award for collecting maximum e-waste. New Era Mother High School bagged the title for the best tool-kit execution while Maharishi Vidya Mandir won the ‘Best Community Outreach Programme' award.
According to program founder Pranshu Singhal, “We are building a cohesive e waste movement across . We envision to drive a long-term behavioural change with respect to critical environmental issues, through Karo Sambhav School Programme.”
Since, July 2017, Karo Sambhav School Program has engaged with over 1800 schools across India, in alignment with the State Departments, and the State Pollution Control Boards.
