Police raid Preacher Virender Dikshit’s Ashram

A team of Jammu and Kashmir High Court along with police on Wednesday his Bhagwati Nagar here allegedly confining several women at his ashrams.
The self-styled Baba who is absconding for the last over two years and being chased by CBI and other state police suspected to be in Nepal. His other Ashrams at Delhi and some other states had been raided earlier on Delhi High Court directions but could not be traced.
“High Court team and police this evening at around 1730 hours raided in Virender Dikshit Ashram at Bhagwati Nagar,” police sources here said.

They said that the ashram is located in the house of one Mukesh Kumar and he had rented it Virender Dikshit on ten years lease.

“The said Dikshit is presently out of state from last two years and there were only three ladies residing in the ashram,” police added.

They said that the said house owner had filed PIL in the High Court in this regard following which raid was conducted.

“Nothing incriminating was found and no item was seized during the search,” they added and said that the matter is being investigated.
