NPP protests seeking immediate dissolution of State Assembly

Panther activists headed by Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP and other leaders staged a protest at exhibition ground in Jammu against the political uncertainty hovering over J&K and rumour mills working overtime suggesting horse trading and unfair practices to woo rival MLAs by political parties. The agitated protesters while accusing the Central government of indulging in proxy rule through the Governor torched the effigy of BJP seeking immediate dissolution of Assembly. Addressing the media, Harsh Dev Singh regretted that there were reports that BJP was enticing the rival legislators to convert them into ‘renegades' and to encourage defections by unethical practices. Alleging that the prolonged suspension of the State Assembly was illegal and defied all the constitutional precedents, Harsh Dev Singh said that so far no political party or a plausible alliance had claimed to form the government. And, in such a situation the dissolution of Assembly was inevitable and required immediate attention of the Governor and the President of , he added. He said that NC, PDP and Congress had categorically conveyed their unwillingness to form the government and advocated for fresh Assembly polls in the State. Concerned over the J&K Assembly being kept under suspended animation without justification and rationale, he once again urged the Governor to dissolve the State Assembly without any further delay in accordance with the mandate of law, precedents and legal stipulations. Narotam Singh, Khajoor Singh, Nirmal Kishore, Mohinder Singh, Rampaul Sharma, Rashpaul Singh, Vishal Singh, Udhayveer Singh, Rohit Sharma, Vikrant Singh, Sansar Chand, Pawandeep Singh, Ashok Chouhan, Rakesh Verma, Joginder Singh, Jeevan Sharma, Deep Kumar, Arun Kumar, Shotu Ram.
