Dear Editor,
Through the columns of your esteemed paper I salute and place my deepest respect to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect our country in the Galwan Valley in Ladakh region who fought with fists, stones, and bamboo poles with nails in them, in a bloody brawl that left around two dozen people dead on our side and double the number on other side. The clash was the biggest Indo-China military confrontation in over five decades. The other disturbing news for the nation is that Nepal's Parliament overwhelmingly approved a constitutional amendment to change the nation's political map to include territory claimed by both India and Nepal. This way now India has live border problems with three countries: Pakistan, China, and Nepal. The all party meeting to discuss the situation in the India-China border by PM scheduled for Friday is being looked very anxiously by every India for a befitting reply to China. We feel proper solution to the problem lies in political will, diplomatic as well as militarily strategies. At the same time we have to curtail the import that is at present approximately of 3000 products from China in a phased manner starting from finished products and so on. This should be fully backed by Government that appears playing a dubious role as few days back RBI has granted license to Bank of China to operate in India.
