Div Com reviews PMKSN, Disaster Management Preparedness

Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma, today reviewed the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PMKSN) besides taking stock of preparedness of Disaster Management in Jammu division.
The Div Com reviewed the overall scenario of Power, Agriculture, Horticulture, PHE, and other sectors in the districts and took stock of damaged infrastructure due to recent rains.
The Deputy Commissioners of Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar, who attended the meeting through video conferencing, informed about the damage occurred due to rain and snowfall in their respective districts. They also informed about the number of roads closed due to landslides in various locations of these districts.
Expressing concern over prevailing vagaries in the districts, the Div Com asked the DCs to prepare and send present status of stocks available along with stock requirements for next two months in their respective districts.
The Div Com asked the DCs to take all necessary measures to ensure safety of the people and conduct mock drills of disaster management in vulnerable areas. He directed the concerned functionaries to expedite the restoration and repair works under close supervision and keep the buffer stock available to be utilized in case of any eventuality.
Regarding PMKSN, the DCs informed that the uploading of beneficiaries data on portal is in progress.
The Div Com directed DCs to complete the verification process and upload beneficiaries data on national portal, activation of beneficiaries accounts, preparation of list of exclusive categories and collection of data process immediately so that the beneficiaries receive benefits of the PMKSN scheme.
Among others the meeting was attended by Chief Engineer PHE, Ashok Gandotra, Chief Engineer PDD, Gurmeet Singh, Director Health Services, Dr Samir Matoo, Director FCS&CA, Jatinder Singh besides senior functionaries of concerned departments.
