Div Com directs for early disbursement of land compensation, R&R benefits to locals

Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today chaired a meeting to review the issues pertaining to Pakal Dul, Kiru and Kwar Hydroelectric Projects being executed by the Chenab Valley Power Projects (CVPP) Ltd in Chenab region. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar, Angrez Singh Rana and other officers of District Administration(through Video Conference), besides CVVP management including GM Planning ,P B Jain, GM Kwar HEP , Virendar Raina, GM Pakal Dul, HEP, S H Zargar and Chief Engineer, Kiru HEP Virendar Salman.
Detailed discussion was held between the Administration and CVPP on the issues pertaining to land acquisition, disbursement of compensation to land owners, implementation of Rehabilitation & Re-settlement Plan, handing over of acquired land to CVPP and many alike. The meeting was informed that the land acquisition has been completed in Kiru and Kwar and the disbursement of compensation is under progress. It was further disclosed that most of the bottlenecks and issues pertaining to land acquisition and forest clearance stand resolved and no such major impediments remain now. The Div Com instructed Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar to ensure timely disbursement of land compensation and R&R benefits and further directed the concerned authorities to resolve the small issues at the earliest. During the meeting, some major issues pertaining to Pakal Dul were resolved and a rehab plan was approved to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
He asked the District Administration and CVVP to maintain close coordination for implementation of R&R plan in and spirit.
