2 Pak soldiers killed in retaliatory fire along LoC

Tawi, July 02: At least two Pakistan soldiers were killed and several bunkers destroyed in retaliatory action by the Indian Army against the ceasefire violation by Pakistan on the Line of Control (LoC) in three sectors of Poonch district in Jammu & .

Pakistan violated the ceasefire by firing with small arms along LoC in Shahpur and Kirni sectors of Poonch at about 9.30am, an Army spokesman said.

Indian Army fired at Pakistan posts in Rakh Chikri area in retaliation, which killed two Pakistani soldiers of the 10 Baloch Regiment, the Army spokesman said.

“No major loss or injury was reported on Indian side,” the spokesman said.

There has been a spurt in Pakistani shelling along the LoC and border in J&K this year with over 2,027 cases of violation being reported in the first six months, till June 10.
